Preface

Welcome to the Linux Guidebook. This book is intended to be a resource that you can use to help you better understand Linux and the abilities that it provides. This book was written while Red Hat Linux 7.1 was the popular one to use, but because the operating system is truly object oriented in nature, the things you learn by using this book will still be beneficial to you in the later versions to come. Linux is may favorite operating system and I hope that by reading and using this book you will also be able to come to love the Linux that I love.
